Now restrictions have been largely eased and we make our way into the new normal, GNN are still urging groups to take care when volunteering.
The situation at present is:
- Anyone can volunteer outside of their home, but if you are extremely clinically vulnerable you should take extra care. Please click here to find out more.
- There is no advice or regulation on any age limits on volunteer driving.
- Lateral Flow Testing is available for all adults, and it is suggested that two tests are carried out per week. Tests can ordered and then collected from test sites or pharmacies, or delivered to your home. Click here to find out more.
We have developed a clear set of guidelines for groups offering driving services. We encourage drivers to continue wearing a single use face mask. GNN recommend that passengers also wear face coverings, although these do not need to be single use masks. You can find additional information on face coverings and instructions about how to make a face mask here. For those who need lip reading-friendly masks please click here for instructions for making one.
Government advice states, “People should wash their hands or use hand sanitiser before putting their face covering on and after taking it off and it is important that people don’t touch their face covering when wearing it, where possible, to avoid hand to mask transmission of the virus.”
Please remember the importance of ventilation to help prevent the spread of the virus. Open car windows, and windows and doors of any buildings you may be hosting social clubs in or befriendees you may be visiting.
The GNN staff team are available on the phone, and by email ([email protected]) if groups need particular help and support.
