Princeton’s Professor Stephen Kotkin previously relied on his university faculty pages as his only presence on the web. The pages were hard to find, hard to update, and admittedly pretty terrible looking. With a new book coming out and dozens of important online and print articles with no central home Dr. Kotkin knew it was time for new website. He came to Apt Design with this request in hand – make me a website where someone can go to “read all things Kotkin.” We did just that.
Dr. Kotkin’s new site is structured simply and ready to grow as he continues adding blog posts about current affairs and writing in major news publications around the world. His work is all simply organized and easy to find, yet the site doesn’t lack for a visual component that directly reflects his Russian content. Most importantly his books and the ability to easily purchase them are not lost in the shuffle.
After the initial concepts Dr. Kotkin was overwhelmingly pleased with the conscious emphasis put on his work. We added all the content for him and he was able to go live with his new site without much more than a few emails.
Dr. Kotkin is very pleased with the finished product and now has a central hub for this blog posts, his long-form articles, and his best-selling books.
